Kelly van Soest é o cabecilha do projecto de hardcore Evil Activities, sendo ele o único produtor. Quanto aos outros dois membros - DJ Dazzler e Chaosphere - apenas surgem em "live-act".
A admiração que Kelly provoca tem a ver com a sua Mestria no piano e no "keyboard", daí todos os seus temas conterem melodias que projectam a música para o interior de qualquer harderstyler, tornando-se hits.

The Qontinent 2010 - CD

The Qontinent Festival é mais um dos festivais de verão em que os harder styles da dance music andam no ar, este por sua vez na Bélgica e não na Holanda, tendo a Q-Dance e a Bass Events por detrás. Foi no passado fim de semana 14 e 15 de Agosto 2010 que tudo se passou e a compilação já anda por aí, pronta "to be listened on beach".

E anthem? Parece que não há nada de oficial, mas a música do trailer oficial pertence ao DJ Coone com o tema "Million Miles". Aliás, pelo próprio CD se nota que este tema do Coone não é anthem pois normalmente é o autor da anthem que mistura o Hardstyle CD e neste caso foi o sir. Frontliner. O facto de o evento já ter ocorrido e este tema do Coone ainda nem ter sido editado também ajuda ao facto de que "Million Miles" não é The Qontinent Anthem.

Loveparade: 1989-2010

Loveparade raver festival, a marca forte da cultura raver, iniciou-se uns meses antes da queda do Muro de Berlim como forma de protesto contra o mesmo e também com o objectivo de ser uma grande festa de aniversário do mentor, o dj/produtor Dr. Motte (Mathias Roeingh), contando com cerca de 150 ravers nesta primeira, ao que viria a ser, de muitas loveparades.
Dr. Motte viria em 2006 a deixar a Loveparade devido à comercialização legal do evento. (ver abaixo)

Festival de música electrónica muitas vezes apelidado por "festival de música techno" pelo facto de a sua origem remontar ao techno e aos seus subgéneros entre os quais se destacam o Hardcore (Gabber e Happy), onde agora são ouvidos, talvez exceptuando-se o happy, na Fuckparade em Berlim. De tudo se ouve na Loveparade - House, Techno, Trance - e os melhores DJs do mundo tem sempre presença nas turntables da Loveparade , tais como: Tiësto, Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox, DJ Rush, Westbam, Marusha, Chris Liebing, entre outros.

Como é sabido a Loveparade trata-se também de uma parada (não de gays como por vezes se vê noticiado na comunicação social) de ravers - não interessa aqui a orientação sexual, a raça, a religião... mas sim o amor pela música electrónica! Parada essa que conta em média com cerca de 40 a 50 camiões bem equipados sonoramente (e não só!) pertencentes aos melhores clubs (p.e. Tunnel Club) e eventos (p.e. Nature One) da Alemanha.

Inicialmente e até 1996 a Loveparade teve lugar na "avenida" de Berlim com o nome de Kurfürstendamm tendo depois mudado para a grande "avenida" que toda o raver conhece, Straße des 17. Juni (Rua 17 de Junho), tendo como imagem de marca e sendo o centro do festival o monumento do anjo dourado - Siegessäule (The Victory Column).

Desde 1989 a 2003 a Loveparade andou em peace, tendo-se sempre realizado em Berlim e rondando sempre entre os 750.000 e os 1.500.000 ravers, sendo este último recorde obtido no ano de 1999.
Na realidade os problemas da "love" começaram a surgir a partir do ano de 2001 aquando da questão do estatuto do evento. Passando a explicar: a Loveparade, aos olhos da lei alemã, não era considerada um evento comercial mas sim uma demonstração politíca (p.e. parada militar) e, assim sendo, os custos com a segurança e limpezas das ruas eram suportadas pelo Estado Alemão e não pelos organizadores do evento; entretanto, neste ano de 2001, a Loveparade comercializou-se legalmente, isto é, passou a ser um evento comercial, nascendo o famoso problema - finanças, fundos, money.
Este problema teve a sua prática nos anos de 2004 e 2005, não havendo Loveparade em Berlim nem em lado algum da grande Alemanha. Foram várias as iniciativas por parte dos clubs germânicos contando estes com a união dos ravers no sentido de voltar com a Loveparade à Rua 17 de Junho. Facto que acabou por se consumar, em 2006, com a grande ajuda de um dos maiores, se não mesmo o maior, ginásio ou club fitness da Alemanha - McFit GmbH - gerido pelo seu fundador Rainer Schaller (o homem que agora terminou com o maior festival raver do mundo). Em 2006 a Loveparade volta com o motto: The Love Is Back.
No ano seguinte a Loveparade Berlim foi cancelada pela não autorização atempada por parte do Senado de Berlim (equiparado, talvez, às Câmaras Municipais). Foi então decido, após várias negociações com muitas cidades alemãs, que a Loveparade passaria a decorrer nos próximos 5 anos ('07, '08, '09, '10, '11) na área Ruhr nas cidades de Essen ('07), Dortmund ('08), Bochum ('09) (que acabou por ser cancelada), Duisburg ('10) e ainda a última cidade para 2011 que desconheço presumindo que ainda iria ser anunciada.

Quanto ao incidente registado no passado Sábado 24 de Julho de 2010, muitos são os boatos e as noticias acerca do que se passou, o certo é que ainda não consegui perceber objectivamente o que se passou, julgo apenas que algo falhou na organização do espaço de acesso ao evento provocando a enchente de pessoas em zona pequena para tal o que acabou por levar ao pânico tendo como resultado, infeliz e lamentavelmente, a morte de alguns ravers. Respect!
Quanto à decisão tomada pelo Sir. Schaller concordo em pleno tendo em conta as palavras por ele proferidas e que passo a citar em inglês: "The Love Parade has always been a peaceful party, but it will forever be overshadowed by the accident, so out of respect for the victims the Love Parade will never take place again" . Acho no entanto que a continuídade da LoveParade não seria de todo um desrespeito pelas vítimas, alías, iriam existir formas de lembrar as mesmas.

Quero crer e tenho a ínfima esperança de a Love voltar...

Mundial Africa Sul 2010 - Over & Out!

Para fechar o capítulo mundial: Holanda em 2º lugar e Alemanha em 3º lugar.
Não é motivo de grandes festejos pois eu desejava um Holanda vs. Alemanha na final ou que pelo menos uma destas selecções fosse campeã.
Ambas jogaram frente à Espanha e não se portaram como deveria ser o suposto, mas enfim o futebol é isso mesmo - dizem os entendidos.
A sua prestação é de elogiar e já o foi resta apenas dar os parabéns à Espanha.

E...chega de futebol!

Early Hardstyle/Hardstyle Oldschool

A critica tem sido alguma ao que eu chamo hardstyle de nova geração, internacionalmente chamado de hardstyle nu-style e a mesma acaba por apelar ao reverse bass (baixo revertido), elemento bastante caracterizador do hardstyle primordial (early hardstyle ou hardstyle oldschool).

Será que a critica tem conseguido influenciar directamente os produtores de Hardstyle?
Sinceramente não tenho resposta objectiva e com certezas acerca da força destas criticas nos produtores de Hardstyle, mas o certo é que tem surgido alguns projectos de early/oldshool hardstyle.
É o caso de G1 & Twizted que já vão no segundo EP Oldschool com temas novos mas com os elementos primordiais do hardstyle incluindo o reverse bass e destaco também o projecto denominado Proppy and Heady (Prophet e Headhunterz) com os temas Summer of Hardstyle (2009) e The B-side (2010).

Quer seja a critica ou não a influenciar, e acredito que em nada deve influenciar (às vezes infelizmente), é sempre agradável e excitante ouvir temas novos que fazem lembrar as origens do Hardstyle e, para aqueles que agora descobriram o hardstyle, é importante conhecer o que era o Hardstyle.
