Harder Styles em sentido estrito envolve o Hardstyle, o Hardcore e o Jumpstyle (que é um derivado já independente do hardstyle) sendo este triangulo de origem neerlandesa e por fim o Hard Trance com origem na Alemanha e UK.
Quanto ao Harder Styles em sentido amplo entendo que o mesmo envolve o sentido estrito e o restante lado Hard da dance music (música electrónica), tal como o Hard House, o Techno (schranz/hard), o Psy/Goa Trance, etc.
Contudo este harder styles em sentido amplo não tem grande efeito prático, isto é, a nível de festivais e compilações. Este conceito verifica-se apenas na Defqon.1 e na Q-Base. No que toca a compilações só a Defqon.1 é editada como tal contendo, em regra, o 1.º cd com Hardstyle, o 2.º cd com Hard Trance, o 3.º cd com Hardcore e o 4.º cd é denominado por "The sound of Defqon" passando pelo Hard Trance, Jump, Hardstyle e Hardcore - razão pela qual eu enquadro o Hard Trance dentro do Harder Styles em sentido stritu.
